The climb to Bwlch Cilian was never steep and from the ridge we had great views down to Llyn Llydaw.
Nantgwynant-Cwm Llan-Watkin path-Bwlch Cilian-Snowden-Allt Maenderyn-Yr Aran.
The valley was in mist but we soon emerged above it in the woods at the start of the Watkin path. Yr Aran was a fine sight as we entered Cwm Llan where we stopped at the Gladstone Rock. The climb to Bwlch Cilian was never steep and from the ridge we had great views down to Llyn Llydaw. Sadly the final climb to Snowden is badly eroded, and the summit was crowded with people arriving by the train adding to the throng. It was rough at times down the south ridge rewarded by a fine ascent of Yr Aran.
